The Initiative

The Initiative

The initiative was formed to introduce Operational Resilience Governance™ (ORG) as an executive governance discipline and to provide a forum through which the discipline can be discussed, challenged, applied, and improved by the resilience community.

ORG addresses a fundamental governance question: Can accountable executives understand and certify the resilience condition of the Mission Critical Business Services on which their organization depends?

The Initiative brings together the research, principles, methodologies, publications, implementation guidance, and practical experience necessary to develop and advance that discipline.

The initiative was founded by Robert “John” Bissell and includes contributing professionals from across the executive, resilience, continuity, and security spectrums.

An Open Initiative

ORG is intended to be discussed and improved by the resilience community. The Initiative welcomes perspectives from executives, resilience and continuity professionals, risk leaders, technology leaders, consultants, researchers, and others with experience in sustaining critical organizational services.

Participation provides an opportunity to share experience, challenge assumptions, contribute perspectives, and help advance the discipline as it is applied in practice.
